Daily routine for Kapha dosha:
- Kapha should get up an hour and a half before sunrise, brush your teeth for at least 3 minutes, consciously aware of what you are doing, thoroughly cleaning your teeth and between the tooth and the gum (you can consult any dentist for the correct way to clean your teeth, as it is not done correctly, even if you have been doing it all your life).
- After brushing, Ayurveda advises massaging the gums with a mixture based on ginger, honey, rock salt and sesame oil.
- Gargle with a ginger tea. Wash your eyes with triphala or cranberry juice.
- Wash with water and put a few drops of sesame oil or ghee in both nostrils.
- Kapha skin care:
Kapha has oily skin, so you should double cleanse your face, twice a day, morning and night. Only use cosmetics suitable for your skin type. Avoid oil-based cosmetics.
- Drink (obviously on an empty stomach): warm ginger or triphala teas.
- When going to evacuate, massage the stomach and do not drink coffee. It also helps a lot to raise both arms at the same time, when you see that “it wants to come out”, and lower them when the urge goes away. Repeat when the urge returns.
- The yoga asanas and exercises for Kapha are headstand, peacock, lion, shoulder stand, palm tree, vajrasana, jumping, running, or any aerobic exercise.
- Dry massage with barley powder before bathing, use a soap with essential oil of: lavender or sage.
-
- Never wash your head with water that is too hot or too cold.
- Dedicate at least 15-20 minutes to pray or meditate. It is advisable to start with guided meditations or simply be calm, sitting on the floor (protected from the cold), in silence, breathing consciously.
- Then, and not before, eat fresh fruit.
- Lunch (12:30-13:30): follow the balanced diet for each dosha. Ayurveda recommends eating without television or radio, and in silence, seeing, smelling, touching and feeling what you are eating. Chewing very well. Water is only drunk to help swallow, if necessary, and after the meal. Rest for a few minutes afterwards.
- Snack (15:00-16:00): eat something light that helps balance the main dosha.
- At sunset, wash your feet, hands and face and change your clothes. Dedicate at least 15-20 min. to meditate or pray.
- Dinner (19:30-20:30): follow the diet to balance the main dosha.
- Night: Follow the routine described above to cleanse, nourish and hydrate the skin, remembering that the face must be damp.
- Pray, forget about the worries, conflicts and frustrations of the day. Turn off the light between 22:00 and 23:00.
